There were almost as many Romance nominees as there are Whitney finalists in all categories combined this year. I read every last one of them. My favorite didn't make the finalist cut, but the five that did make it are definitely among the best nominated. Same rules as with the last two categories. Tell which ones you read. You can rank them one through five with one being the best, or if you can't decide between a couple of titles it's okay to assign them the same rank. If you don't want to rank them just tell us what you liked or disliked about the ones you read. Here are the finalists:

I LOVE this! Carla Kelly's book was fantastic! It touched my heart! I recommended it to everyone I saw! Being a convert and not active at this moment the book was so beautifully written!
BUT
Not My Type was also FABULOUS! I laughed, I giggled and grunted with frustration! The book was a wonderful and I've visited it more than once!
Carla Kelly will and should beat me in this category.
Unfortunately, I was only able to read Captive Heart in this category. (Thanks to winning one of your prior contests!) I loved the humor in the story. I'm starting to dislike the romance formula of having to have something dramatic and life-threatening happen in every single story. I thought this novel took a long time to take off and while entertaining the whole way, once it got to the dramatics it seemed short and maybe underdeveloped. Overall, I loved the book and enjoyed it, but on rereading it I'll probably only read the really funny first three-quarters.
I'm curious, which romance was your favorite? ( the one that didn't become a finalist...)
My favorite was Rachael Anderson's Minor Adjustments. It was well written and touched me personally. I particularly like two of the finalists too and found all of them well-written.
I've read all of them. And liked all of them. Which is saying something because I only read romances when forced to do so.
It's really hard to put two "serious" stories up against three "fun" romances.
I liked Borrowed Light and Captive Heart about the same, with The List just a teensy hair ahead or behind them, depending on my mood.
The other two were good but I didn't relate to them as much.
I absulutely loved Borrowed Light by Carla Kelly, it really made me think. Captive Heart by Michele Paige Homes was exciting and sweet. I haven't read Count Down to Love by Julie N. Ford but now I will have to. I loved both The List and Not my Type by Melanie Jacobson, her style of writing just grabs me. I just finished her new book as well Twitterpated.
I've only read Not my Type and The List. I liked them both, but would put Not my Type first and then The List. I thought I had read most LDS fiction, but I guess I have some more reading to do :)
