FREEDOM GIVEAWAY HOP

The July Wish List contest is going on hold for one week!  For the first week of July you can win an autographed copy of  If I Should Die, my latest novel, simply by commenting on this blog about America.  Thoughtful, positive comments only!  You can have a second chance to win if you are also a follower, but you must mention you are a follower in your comment. And I will be the sole judge of whether your comment is thoughtful.  The contest is open from July 1 to July 7.  Each entry will be assigned a number and one of my grandkids will draw the lucky number from my little red bucket. The prize will be shipped to anywhere in the US or Canada. Entrants will be responsible to check my blog July 8 to see who is the winner, then the winner will need to email me a mailing address.  Good luck!

After entering my contest, check out the other contests linked in this Freedom Giveaway Hop.

If I Should Die by Jennie Hansen

One morning on a routine jog, Kallene’s running partner, Linda, confides that she’s filing for divorce. The next morning, she’s gone without a trace, leaving behind her frightened young daughter. Since Linda’s enraged husband refuses to notify the police, Kallene steps in to initiate a missing person search, not knowing it would soon become a murder investigation—or that she’d soon fall for the charming lead detective. With Linda’s handsome brother also on her mind, Kallene must navigate the rapids of a double romance as well as the deepening suspicion in her upscale Utah neighborhood. Intrigue turns to danger as Kallene faces the consequences of hasty judgments. And when startling new evidence casts Linda’s murder as the work of a determined killer, Kallene needs the intervention of unlikely heroes to avoid being the next victim.

America is A wonderful country, We have the most diverse nation in the world. All people are welcome to live here and achieve the freedom and education they desire. Our Country takes in the those destitute from the wages of war, and helps them become the people they were meant to be. How many other countries help re-build a nation after having been to war with them?? How many others help their enemy rise to their feet after having defeated them?? I believe our Country is great because of these things. Thank you for the opportunity to say so.

Many years ago I had the opportunity to sit in an audience of military families at Clark Air Base in the Philippines and listen to Lee Greenwood sing "God Bless the USA". Everyone in the audience was on their feet and there weren't many dry eyes in that group. We were in a far away land during a difficult time and it was a blessing to be gathered together than night to celebrate the freedom we have in The United States of America.

I am grateful for this country and the freedom we have to experience what we do. We have the right to practice our religion, freedom of speech and press. I loved going to Philadelphia with my family and son and reading about our heritage and physically looking and seeing the historical sites. My oldest son loves to read and I encourage him to read about our historical leaders and the things they believed in and fought for because I think its important for him to be aware of what goes on around him. My husband and I have been watching How the States got their Shapes on the history channel and how interesting it is to listen to all the states rich history-good and bad-and be able to share with others!!

I feel truly blessed to be an American. I may not always agree with our leaders and their decisions, but I am grateful to live in a democracy and to enjoy the freedoms I enjoy. Count me as your newest follower; I look forward to getting to know you better. And if you have a minute, I hope you will visit my blog, too! Have a wonderful Independence Day weekend!

I was a history major in college with my emphasis on early American history. I love this country, even more so with multiple family members having served or are serving in the military. To me, America is about sacrifice: what are you willing to give up to make this country great? What are you willing to do to make it better?

I can't imagine living anywhere else than in the United States. I have either driven through and stopped, visited on purpose, or lived in all but three states, California, Hawaii, and Alaska are those three. It is a wonderful place with lots to see and do wherever you are, even if you just have to look a bit harder. As a child my Mom would take us on day trips, we would see mostly historic locations, battlefields where the Civil War was fought, we saw Plymouth Rock and participated at Historic Williamsburg, I have seen the Grand Canyon many times, and have even hiked down a canyon and crossed through a rapid flowing river to see some off the path Indian ruins, and I remember those places with such fondness, especially now that I have a family of my own. Where else could I see so many wondrous places and have these same experiences, nowhere that I can think of. I love living in the United States, and feel priviledged to do so.

In America, we have so many rights we take for granted. The freedom of speech is the most important. We have the right to speak up, and say when we see something. We can have civil discourse, that many other countries you would be prosecuted and even put to death for doing. It is so easy to forget how important it is. America is a great country.

I travel extensively outside the USA, each and every time I visit these other countries I find so much love for them, and at the same time, it helps me to see what America has that I seem to take for granted for. I feel so blessed to be able to have the freedom of religion, this is so important to me. I love my Heavenly Father and I owe so much to him for allowing me to live in the USA.

A member o0f our bishopric started fast and testimony meeting today by sharing the thoughts the Lord has shared about our country's forefathers. I have always had great respect for each one of them and am so grateful. These special spirits are the reason why I was able to spend 18 months serving as a fullt time missionary in the Republic of Texas. I was able to share the gospel which was rable to be restored through the prophet Joseph Smith becasue we had religous freedom. I am so very grateful for every single person who made that possible. I am continually grateful to those who fight for our freedoms today! Happy Independence day!

I am proud to be an American. The majority of my family will enter the army, navy, or airforce and remain for life-not out of obligation, but out of happiness and pride. I love our ability to exercise our rights with few to no restrictions and our country's ability to function as a melting pot (I'm 18 nationalities). edysicecreamlover18ATgmailDOTcom

Your book premise sounds great. I read a variety of genres but suspense/thriller is my favorite.

I was born in India but emigrated to the USA with my parents and younger brother when I was 4. The majority of my family and all my in-laws still live there so we visit when we can.

Although I consider myself to be quite adaptable/flexible, I don't think I could live anywhere but America. The possibilities are endless and there is relatively a great degree of individual freedom.

I am proud to be an American and have so many freedoms. I only wish some people could learn to use these freedoms more wisely by using them more to unite people than to divide them.

I didn't realize how grateful I was to live in such a great country until I had the opportunity to travel to Philadelphia and Washington D.C and see for myself all the that was accomplished in these cities by our founding fathers to make our country what it is today. Huge sacrafices have been made and continue to made for our rights and freedoms and I am so proud to be an American.

I love murder mystery/thrillers and your book sounds like one I would really enjoy. I hate to put a good book down and many times stay up till the wee hours of the morning to finish it.

I am a proud American and my children share that pride. The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday celebration.

My father is a man that hides his emotions as much as he can force. I can count the number of times I have seen the man cry on very few fingers and without the use of any toes. He and my mother worked in the Washington D.C. LDS Temple and one experience he had there brought him to tears as it happened and again as he related it to me.
It was just after 9/11 and my dad was working the recommend desk in the entrance to that beautiful temple. A dirty man in military fatigues walked in. He approached the the desk looking bedraggled at best and utterly exhausted. He told my father that he knew he was dirty and not dressed appropriate to enter God's house, but that after working for days on the clean up of the Pentagon, he simply needed to be there. With tears running down his cheeks, my father shook his hand and thanked him for all he was doing and all he was willing to do as a member of our armed forces to allow the rest of us the chance to live with freedom. It was one of the great privileges of my dad's experience as a temple worker to help that man have a chance to clean up and spend time refilling his reservoirs in the House of the Lord that night.

May we all remember that freedom is and never will be free and take the time to think about those that are willing to pay the price so that we might all receive! Thank God for blessing us all!

I'm Canadian living in Canada, so I am partial to my own country and I think some thing we do better. But I think there are a lot of things that you guys do better.

1. You're weather is better. If you don't like the weather where you live, you can move somewhere else within your own country.

2. There's more opportunity for artists. Our entertainment, publishing, and music industries are limited.

3. You guys help other countries around the world.

4. Patriotism. I was in the states on the 4th of July once, in an amusement park watching a show. The patriotism is contagious!

5. Food and other goods tend to be cheaper than here. I don't know why.

6. Travelling in the states I have always been helped by considerate people.

I love living in America. On the Fourth of July we attended a flag raising and the speaker was Arizona's Secretary of State. He spoke briefly about the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the three divisions of the American Government. His main points were that God gave us rights and the people used those documents to transfer power to the government to protect God given rights. I really appreciated the reminder.I'm amazed by the things I take for granted in this free land and so am grateful for those who have died or been changed while fighting for those freedoms. I'm grateful to have the chance to do the things I love and know that that chance is because of many other people's sacrifice. America is a wonderful country and I pray that people will continue to remember that and stand for the things that made it what it is today.

I agree with almost what everyone else is saying: I love the freedom America gives us! Its that simple. I just graduated high school and I have some friends going into the army, its sad to see them go but they are doing it for their country! Its that time of year to be grateful for what they are doing :)
Thanks for this awesome giveaway!
